Romney Scolds CNN’s King: ‘You Get to Ask the Questions You Want, I Get to Give the Answers I Want’

Posted by on Thursday, 23 February, 2012

There was a delicious moment in Wednesday's Republican presidential debate when CNN moderator John King tried to reel Mitt Romney in to respond to his query. Not allowing himself to be bullied, the former Massachusetts Governor marvelously said, “You get to ask the questions you want, I get to give the answers I want” (video follows with transcript): JOHN KING, CNN: Governor Romney? MITT ROMNEY: We’ve got to restore America’s promise in this country, where people know that with hard work and education that they’re going to be secure and prosperous and that their kids will have a brighter future than they’ve had. For that to happen we’re going to have to have dramatic fundamental change in Washington, D.C. We’re going to have to create more jobs, have less debt, and shrink the size of government. I’m the only person in this race… KING: Is there a misconception about you? The question is the misconception. ROMNEY: You know, you get to ask the questions you want, I get to give the answers I want. KING: Fair enough. Associate Editor’s note: As you are likely aware, since the financial collapse of 2008, charities and non-profit organizations have seen a sharp reduction in donations. Although the environment has improved, contributions are still nowhere near where they were prior to the recession. Unfortunately, the Media Research Center has not been immune. With this in mind, your support has become more important than ever. With a critical election approaching, the liberal media needs to be monitored 24/7. As we have been predicting for months, the press are willing to do anything to get their beloved politicians elected and/or reelected. As such, we need your help to fight this fight. Any contribution, even $10, is greatly appreciated. Please consider a tax-deductible gift to the Media Research Center to help us battle the liberal media. Thank you. Aide: Gingrich can’t win with Romney in the race

Posted by on Thursday, 23 February, 2012

MESA, Ariz. — Newt Gingrich expects Rick Santorum will win Tuesday’s primary in Michigan — and that’s not such a bad thing for his campaign, a top Gingrich aide said Wednesday. “For a Gingrich candidacy to advance to Tampa, Mitt Romney cannot be in the race,” said R.C. Hammond, Gingrich’s spokesman. Hammond spoke to reporters on Wednesday as the GOP candidates were preparing to take the stage for a CNN debate, and said Gingrich needed to do away with the dishonest attacks Romney was bringing into the campaign before it could focus on winning. “Whatever means we can use that are our advantage to get rid of Mitt Romney, and if that means we have Rick Santorum as the one who exposes him for being a flawed candidate, we’re happy to have that happen,” he said. Naaaah: SCOTT WHITLOCK: Hi, Mr. Matthews, my name is Scott Whitlock. I’m with the Media Research Center and- CHRIS MATTHEWS: What’s the Media Research Center?   WHITLOCK: Uh, we write about liberal media bias.  [Matthews visibly sighs Read this post

Randi Rhodes Rips Republicans on Rape, Mocks Limbaugh as ‘Repulsive and Impotent’

Posted by on Sunday, 19 February, 2012

Liberal radio talker Randi Rhodes can talk about rape and the Republicans coming and going. On Wednesday’s program, these words spewed from her mouth: “Mitt Romney is a – he's a rapist of business! It's a gift! It's a gift!” Then with Rick Santorum, she continued the “It’s a gift!” line and made fun of Santorum for suggesting on CNN that a child conceived in rape is an innocent child, so a woman could “make the best of a bad situation.” That led Rhodes into a rant against God:
